Planning permission was granted by Kent Surrealist County Council (KSCC) for the construction of the tall and aromatic monument to ‘acting casual’ – Lawrence Tate. Due to shortages in materials and rising labour costs, Lawrence was eventually finished on time but ran to more than six times over budget. Formed largely out of wattle and crisps, he holds an ambition to become the world’s first human mosaic. The plaque, which is really made from further crisps, reads:

‘I hate crisps. How dare you imply I must like them. What, because you half made me from them I must love them?? They cut your mouth. You are just rude!’

KSCC refused to comment on the plaque but did decide to place a heavy fine on Lawrence Tate for ‘not acting in the casual manner befitting a monument dedicated to acting casual’. Lawrence Tate responded by ending the surrealist portion of this biography. The crisps were ethically sourced.

Lawrence has enjoyed acting since the age of five and holds a deep respect for most comedy and it’s actors. After years of making people laugh and at Chichester College, he spent two years training to act at The Poor School in King’s Cross, London. He has since performed in fringe theatre, before returning to Chichester as part of the Goodwood Actor’s Guild and is very happy and proud to be a part of Finsbury, which is his debut in radio comedy. He looks forward to hopefully a lot more of the same.

As part of the now defunct Non Members Only line up she’s well versed in dealing with crazy scripts and the even crazier cast involved.  Her son William is Finsbury’s biggest fan, although he’s never listened to it and won’t until he’s 15 as it has naughty words in it.

Will last trod the boards at the 100 Club in 2005 with the comedy group Non Members Only which was a show he co-wrote with many of the fine actors in Finsbury.  Since then he has been living in a comedy cave working on his magnum opus, a novel titled “Cheese: What went Wrong?”  In between that he’s also been working on Finsbury and he is immensely proud of all the work everyone has put into it.

He longs for the day in which he creates something that his Mother no longer refers to as “not as good as The House of Death” (look it up it’s on YouTube… scratch that please don’t).

Super power: Cramp.

After achieving one of those new fangled nonsense degrees in ‘How To Make A Film And Other Shizzle’ (M.E.Dizzle) and on the advice of a wurzel, Rebecca moved to the Big Smoke with a pneumatic drill.

Finding the streets to be paved with a worthless aggregate and what appeared to be a layer of twiglets, she took to writing fiction and filming shorts.*

Finsbury is the lovechild of a threesome that Rebecca was tricked into joining after being assured they were talking about promiscuous sex and not some silly comedy project.

Rebecca spends her days selling bits of pavement on ebay and finds talking about herself in the third person unnerving.

Well you’ve ruined the effect now…

*Shorts as in short films. Except in the case of  ‘Y Tu Calzones Tambien’, a cinematic masterpiece in which a pair of denim shorts discovers its sexuality after wedgying someone for twelve hours.

After graduating in Drama, Lee has performed stand-up and in numerous theatre productions, including ‘Twelfth Night’ and ‘The Wind in the Willows’. Lately, he has taken his love of history to not only give guided tours of the more unsavoury and unknown parts of London, but he also lectures in Tudor and Restoration history and popular culture. He has just completed his first novel – the ambitious ‘Sisters of Fortune’, a torrid, page-turning epic set in 17th century London.

He spends far too much of his spare time watching ‘Doctor Who’ and to this day, finds it impossible to climb a flight of stairs without pretending he is in a 1970s BBC publicity photo…

Rich was born…and that is a fact!

He has also been involved in a number of comedy projects, including having been a founding member of comedy troupe Non-Members Only and a run at the Edinburgh festival with the Tea Time Heroes, where his rendition of Celine Dion’s “All by Myself”" unintentionally cleared the aisles.

Now partially retired on his father’s side, he was tempted back into the world of comedy be the promise of a free meal every now and again and a shiny one pound coin.

Rich is well versed in language, knowing some, but not all, of the words in the Oxford English dictionary and has the ability of saying the word “Bye” in at least 36 different ways.

He also has a beard.

Michelle was born in a secret facility - a rather disappointing result of the military experiment ‘Operation Super Trooper’.

 She spent her formative years in the creative wilderness of suburbia, until she discovered inter-dimensional travel while ironing socks. 

 And so, she spent the next three millennia travelling through the Uber-verse… which was nice.

 In 2009 Michelle graduated with an MA in Screenwriting from the National Film and Television School.

 Michelle’s writing credits include stage plays, some television and film development and a bit part in a music video, where she played a dust jacket.

 Mathematics is not her strong point but she’s reliably informed that she’s one third of the Finsbury writing and producing team.

Sean Cameron has worked on a variety of comedy web content from writing and co-starring in sitcom Rex & Eddie Investigates to featuring in sketches with US comedy troupe These People.

More comfortable behind the camera, Sean has worked on dozens of comedy shorts as a writer and director, regularly casting himself and hoping for the best.

When invited to join the cast of Finsbury he was dead excited to finally be encouraged to put on a variety of silly voices and not be told to shut up.

Sean was delighted that his aversion to learning lines and his habit of looking at the camera was not an issue in the world of radio.  He soon felt at home in a cramped sound booth… locked from the outside… with no food and water until he finished the script… if he was lucky.

Sean currently resides in Los Angeles with his American wife and step-daughter. When not laughing at the British weather report he spends his time writing screenplays and from time-to-time films shorts for the web.

 He is in advertising and has worked his way up to a management level.  He lives for his mates and is a loyal friend; he’d never ditch them for a girl or to get ahead at work. 

 Shaun has strong morals but only wants to see and believe the good in people.  This means he can be manipulated, which can cause conflict between those who are close to him, like Sophia and Jack.   He’s the voice of reason, sanity and normality in Jack’s world.  Shaun lends a sympathetic but slightly concerned ear to Jack’s ramblings about the other worlds.  He doesn’t call the doctors or jeopardise Jack’s chances of getting custody of Chris.

 Eddie started at the carpet cleaning company at the same time and rank as Jack. Within fifteen minutes he was promoted to regional manager, having impressed the management with his ‘can-do’ attitude and flirtatious fingers.

 Eddie has a particularly staunch set of morals – he’s never wrong. When he met Pippa and let loose the Eddie charm he was surprisingly knocked back, which was like a red rag to a bull. He launched a campaign to claim her as his lady and eventually she relented. And to cement his point that Jack was in fact, a loser, he fired him.

Life with Lydia isn’t a bed of roses. He would rather give an insult than admit emotion, even if his life depended on it. Selfish to his phloem tubes, the only time he thinks of anyone else is when the ramifications threaten to impact him in any way. His wants and loyalties change from minute to minute, so it’s only their boring policies and bureaucracy that keep him from siding with Thee Company.

Despite all this Mr Squeaky finds him endearing. There’s something in the heart of this little pansy, a smidgen of heroism, a whisper of the maverick and perhaps a whiff of the partner Mr Squeaky lost all those years ago.

 Jack irritates Lydia. His indecisiveness, his cowardliness and his allen key. They rub each other up the wrong way and often have conflicting approaches to the situations they end up in.

 Mr Squeaky saw the city and all decent folks go to shit, so he gave everything up; his wife, hutch in the suburbs and 52 pups. He hit the bottle and occasionally drank from it; he slept whenever he fell asleep. He became a mercenary, fighting wars for the highest bidder. His rippling weapon of a body was scarred and torn, his demons haunted him.  For all his years in the wilderness, he acquired endless skills, the extent of which are only just becoming apparent.  TACACA pulled him up from the gutter with the promise of a new life and the possibility of revenge against Thee Company.

Jack always hoped to complete his ‘Fiscock’s Tarditas on the Stars’ and finally regain his self-confidence. But life just kept getting in the way and he became disillusioned by the world. He had an early mid-life crisis, without the sports car, when he realised that his temporary job had unwittingly become his career. Also, to revive their flagging relationship he and Pippa had a son, Chris. A screaming child failed to have the desired effect and now Pippa has thrown Jack out of the family home in favour of Eddie, the boss from hell. To top it all off Eddie has fired Jack because of the “social awkwardness that occurs after you sleep with your employee’s wife.”

We meet Jack after he has moved off his best friend Shaun’s sofa and into what can only be described as a shit flat. He’s hit rock bottom and needs to pull his life back together. At a moment of near mental breakdown Jack avows to take control and get his wife and child back. At that same moment, the dimensional ϋberverse is revealed to him. Is it a coincidence of fate or has Jack lost the plot?
